Until recently, the website automatically downscaled every uploaded panorama to ~19 megapixels — the equivalent of a cubemap with six 2048×2048 tiles. For years that was a perfectly reasonable trade-off: the quality loss was practically invisible.
With the release of the Insta360 x6, that's no longer true. New 1-inch sensors and 120-megapixel panoramas mean the downscaling finally became noticeable.
